Stone Floor Cleaning & Polishing Process
The first step is to mask off and protect all areas to protect from dust and liquid during the cleaning process all ready to start the floor.
The second step revives the floor and puts the colour back into the stone. This is done by using a suitable cleaning solution for your stone type and scrub with a 17-inch cleaning pad on our floor machine to achieve a deep clean.
The third step, after we have cleaned the floor area is to identify any holes in the floor. Marble and stone products break down over time with people walking over the surface, so after we clean the surface we are able to see this damage. In this step, we will identify and fill any holes with an appropriate filler that will be ground down in the fourth step.
In the fourth step, we use diamond pads on our floor machine. The grade of the pad and number of times we go over the floor depends on the current state of your floor. The diamonds takes away the traffic and worn areas like scratches and deep scratches to revive the surface sheen ready for a final polish.
In the fifth step we do the final polish, we can use a polish and paste or powders depending on what the material of the stone is. We rinse this off with a soda solution with the floor machine.
In the fifth step, we’ll apply an impregnable sealer with a lambswool to penetrate the stone, close the pores and help protect the surface from staining.
